Acadian Ambulance Explorers - Lafayette Parish
Explorers from Post 108 explain what Exploring means to them:
"Explorers to me is a second family, we work several events together throughout the year and we get to know each other. We're like one big dysfunctional family. I joined explorers my junior year in high school not really knowing if I'd like it, I worked a few events and I fell in love with it! I wasn't sure what I wanted to do after high school until I joined explorers, that's when I realized that being in the back of a truck, helping those in need, is what I wanted to do. I would encourage any teen seeking the medical field to join because it really helps you to decide if the medical field is for you. I love my explorer post and I wouldn't ask for a better group of people to work event with. Explorer post 108 truly is my second family."

"I am the Field Training Officer for the post. I am in charge of training new explorers and pre-existing explorers on basic medical knowledge. This Explorer Post means a lot to me. Saving lives is a very special thing. By the end of the day, when you know you made a difference, it is an unexplainable feeling.”
