About - Boy Scouts

Scouts BSA is an outdoor program designed to develop character, citizenship, leadership, and fitness for young men and women ages 11 through 17. Scouting helps these kids develop into well-rounded young adults. The Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank in Scouting, is recognized around the world as a mark of excellence.

Scouts BSA can take part in many camping opportunities within their troop, at one of the Evangeline Area Council's four camps, or at one of the Boy Scouts of America's National High Adventure Bases. In Scouts BSA, youth take responsibility for the activities of the troop. By planning and organizing activities, they develop teamwork and learn to lead as well as follow. After Scouts BSA, many young men and women can transition into the Venturing program or become a volunteer leader in their Troop.
