14th Annual St. Landry Parish Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner

Three Opelousas residents will be honored May 14th for their contributions to the community.
Greg Bordelon and husband-and-wife Dr. Derek Metoyer and Lana Metoyer will be recognized at the Boy Scouts of America-Evangeline Area Council‘s 14th Annual St. Landry Parish Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner.
All proceeds from the event will benefit all Scouts of St. Landry Parish.
The distinguished citizens were chosen by a committee consisting of Teri Cober, Dr. Tom Darbonne, Dr. Lucius Doucet, Amanda Fontenot, Joe Fred Godchaux Sr., Richard M. Hollier, Dr. Thomas Jones III, Mark LeBlanc, Dr. Michael Montgomery, Maureen Little, Pat Morrow, Keith Myers, Earl Taylor and committee chairman David Williams.
Organizers of the dinner are Williams, Elvin Manges and Little, with assistance from Mark LeBlanc.
The event which begins at 6:00pm with a reception and a dinner being served at 7:00 pm, will be held at Wolff Hall, 202 Main St., Washington.
Tickets for the dinner are $125 for an individual, $500 for a Silver Sponsorship for four tickets, $1000 for a Gold Sponsorship for a table for eight and $2500 for a Platinum Sponsorship for two tables of eight.
The Evangeline Area Council serves about 4,500 – 5,000 Scouts in eight Acadiana Parishes, including St. Landry, Evangeline, Lafayette, Vermillion, St. Martin, Acadia, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes.
Although the Evangeline Area Council encompasses those eight parishes, the money raised at the event will remain in St. Landry Parish.
