School Night for ScoutingThe Evangeline Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is set to hold an aggressive campaign at schools to recruit for Scouting.The beginning of the school year is always the marker for ''School Night for Scouting.'' Scout leaders visit schools and talk to boys about the Boy Scouts and recruit for the program. School Night is the most aggressive time for recruitment, although boys may sign up for Scouting at any time during the year. The Boy Scouts of America is built around instilling ethical character and responsible citizenship through a program rich with fun and adventure. For more information on the Evangeline Area Council Boy Scouts' ''School Night for Scouting'', including information on when the Scouts are recruiting at your school, please call the Evangeline Area Council, Boy Scouts of America at (337) 235-8551. Per the Regional Boy Scout Office:National Tour Permits must be submitted to the Council Scout office 30 days prior to the date of the trip.The original paperwork has to be mailed to Kennesaw, Georgia (faxes from Councils are no longer acceptable). Once received at the Regional Boy Scout Office, an approval will be issued and mailed directly to the unit leader. Tiger and Boy Scout Advancement NewsEffective June 1, a Tiger Cub must earn the Cub Scouting Bobcat badge as his first badge of rank after joining a pack.
