MONTHLY DISTRICT COMMISSIONER’S MEETING

 

 

Our District Commissioner Staff meets every month at Asbury United Methodist Church.  All Unit Commissioners and Assistant District Commissioners are invited to join District Commissioner Donald Broussard for a time of fellowship, unit reports, training and information updates.

 

First Wednesday of each Month

5:45 – 6:45pm

 

As always, all District Commissioner Staff members are encouraged to help recruit new members of the team.  We also want to recognize commissioners for their outstanding work through the Commissioner Recognition Program.  For more information about commissioner service, contact District Commissioner Donald Broussard at donbrous@cox.net .

National High Adventure Opportunities for

Boy Scouts and Venturing Members

 

 

Ever thought about taking part in one of the three national High Adventure bases?  They are often the highlight of the Scouting experience.  Attend one for the time of your life!  Attend all three and qualify for the Triple Crown of High Adventure patch (see above).

AROUND THE DISTRICT…

 

 

 

Lafayette Pack 475 at attention with the soldiers of the 256th Infantry Brigade (Tiger Division).  Captain Kevin McBride of the Tiger Division is a proud Cub Scout dad in Pack 475.

 

 

 

Lafayette Pack 10 lead the flag ceremony to kick-off Catholic Schools Week across the nation.  The boys were also encouraged to stay in Scouting during a speech made by Eagle Scout Patrick Stansbury at the event.

 

 

 

 

Scouts from Lafayette Troop 224 perform the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Beau Bassin District Banquet in February. 

 

 

 

Council President and Eagle Scout Gary McGoffin addresses the attendees at the 2010 Beau Bassin District Banquet.  Gary spoke about the recent Centennial Celebration and the importance of our mission in Scouting.

 

 

 

Tim Thousand (L) received the Scoutmaster of the Year award, while Jeff Moreau enjoys being named as Beau Bassin District’s Cubmaster of the Year at the 2010 District Banquet.
