CAMP BROWNELL
Camp Brownell is 4.25 acres of Council property located North of Stevensville, LA on Bayou Long in lower St. Martin Parish. At this time Camp Brownell is a primitive camping area.
Fresh running water, a 24' x 28' pavilion, 3 camp sites and ample firewood, a new wharf, and a primitive boat launch are available for use. In the development process is a safe swim area.
WHAT DOES CAMP BROWNELL HAVE TO OFFER?
AQUATICS, AQUATICS, AQUATICS
Canoeing, motor boating, water skiing, rowing, fishing, crawfishing (in season), crabbing, troutlines for catfish, and swimming!!!
Materials are available for pioneering projects and fire building classes. The Stevensville road, with its' great view of scenic marshes and wildlife, is great for hiking.
Canoes are available upon request with tour permit.

Tour permits must be filed at the Council office 2 weeks prior
to camp usage and a copy sent to Mr. Savoie per his
instructions.
Directions to Camp Brownell
HWY 90 to LA 70 in Morgan City. Go through 2 signal lights to the stop sign, turn right on LA 70
and proceed around Lake Palourde to Stephensville. Turn right at the
flashing light by Doiron's Landing (Store). Proceed down Stephensville Road, cross the new bridge (on the right),
turn left off the bridge. Brownell Camp is 2.8 miles on the left hand
side.
